DEI Education

A Shared Experience with DEI

These sessions are designed to happen in order, live, with a cohort of folks. They are heavily reflection and discussion based. By the end of the series, participants will have both a deeper understanding of key concepts and a stronger connection with one another.

Identity at Work

We’ll go deep into the idea that each of us has a unique story that informs who we are today. Our physical traits, attitudes and experiences inform how we see the world and how we navigate it. We dispel the concept of “a diverse person” and explore how our identities show up at work and bring value to the team.

Shining a Light on Bias

Bias has evolved in every single one of us. When we remove the stigma, we’re able to explore how it impacts our ability to accurately perceive others. Through research and reflection, we’ll examine how bias comes up in our work with teammates, and apply frameworks that allow us to move beyond it in our decisionmaking.

Inclusive Leadership

Being inclusive requires both proactive behaviors and speaking up when something exclusive takes place. We’ll explore what it looks like to be inclusive in the context of work, and practice frameworks for speaking up with curiosity, compassion and courage so that we all can be better.

Equity and Justice

Becoming equitable and achieving justice requires doing things differently in structural and systemic ways. In the culmination of this series, we dive deep into the definition of equity and brainstorm ways that we can collaborate with others to create a more just organization and community.

Testimonials

"I've loved working with Lucretia as a facilitator for our Inclusive Mindset workshops over the last year. Great facilitation is hard. Great facilitation around diversity and inclusion in corporate America is particularly tough; yet Lucretia exceeded our expectations. She brought strong prior experience but it was really her willingness to seek and implement feedback and team-player attitude that set her apart. That her NPS scores were indistinguishable from our most experienced facilitator is a testament to her excellence."

"Lucretia, I want to personally thank you for hosting yesterday's workshop. Your knowledge, experience, social sensitivity, and compelling examples made the session informative and enjoyable. I appreciated your reminder that human beings are complex creatures. As such, we can sometimes think we're using intuition when in fact, we are exercising an unconscious bias.

Thanks for encouraging great dialogue, sharing many perspectives, and allowing us to learn from one another. Very well done! I hope that you'll lead more sessions and that I'll be fortunate to attend."
